Educational evaluation pathway

Understanding a Central-Airway Evaluation

This general pathway explains how persistent respiratory symptoms may be organized and how a licensed healthcare team may decide whether specialized airway evaluation is appropriate.

Why a specialized pathway?

Symptoms associated with TBM and ECAC can overlap with asthma, COPD, reflux, upper-airway disorders, infections, cardiac disease, and other conditions. Dynamic expiratory imaging and dynamic bronchoscopy are different from routine testing and are considered only when clinically appropriate.

This page does not track progress, save notes, create a case, or store a medical record. Use it as an educational reference and discuss the appropriate next step with your healthcare team.

Discuss with Primary Care Physician

Schedule an appointment with your primary care physician to discuss your symptoms and share your assessment results.

3

Pulmonology Consultation

See a pulmonologist for specialized evaluation of your airway symptoms.

4

CT Imaging of the Airway

Request a dynamic CT scan of the chest with expiratory views.
